  1. Federal Critical Minerals Infrastructure Fund: Deadline to Apply is Feb 29
     
    To provide up to $1.5 billion over seven years for clean energy and transportation infrastructure projects necessary to enable the sustainable development and expansion of critical minerals in Canada. The first call for proposals is now open, with up to $300 M in contribution funding available under 2 streams: Preconstruction & Project Development and Infrastructure Deployment. 

  2. Energy Innovation Program – Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS) Research, Development & Demonstration Call for Proposals – Utilization - Expression of Interest Deadline Feb 23
    Under the broader CCUS RD&D program, this phase supports research, development, & demonstration (RD&D) of CO2 utilization technologies that have the potential to significantly and meaningfully reduce the costs, as well as the energy and carbon intensity, of CO2 conversion and utilization into viable products and commodities for long-term or permanent sequestration of CO2 at a large scale.
     
  3. Workforce Consultant Team: Apprenticeship & Industry Training (AIT) Webinar - Feb 27 from 2:00-3:00 PM
    During the presentation “Apprenticeship 101”, an AIT Liaison Officer/Exams Officer will guide you through the Skilled Trades & Apprenticeship Education Act, the role of the employer, the financial benefits of an apprentice, as well as grants and funding opportunities that are available for employers.
  1. Catalyst Incubator – Apply Now for Fall 2024!
    Funded by Central Alberta Regional Innovation Network and Alberta Innovates, budding entrepreneurs can receive 50+ hours of FREE training, coaching, and mentorship/peer support!

  2. Travel Alberta Product Development Funding – Apply Early – First Come – First Served before March 1
     
    Three streams are available: Growth Fund, Innovation Fund, and Incubator Fund. Applications for Cooperative Investment Funds are expected to open in early March!

  3. Woman Up – Feb 23 at the Forum in Red Deer County
    This networking event for women is hosted by the Red Deer & District Chamber and will give a glimpse into what’s to come at the 2024 Women Leading Change Conference in September.

  4. Leveraging Technology for Digital Transformation in Manufacturing – FREE Webinar at Noon on Feb 22
    Hosted by the Manufacturing & Export Enhancement Cluster, this session will inform manufacturers and fabricators about opportunities to integrate new hardware and software into their operations

  5. Alberta Internet-Of-Things (IoT) Fast Track Program – Info Session on Feb 20 at 9:00 AM
    This virtual education program helps Alberta-based tech companies with a vested interest in IoT and/or emerging technology accelerate their business growth. Meet others in the 2024 cohort and learn more about the year-long business accelerator.
     
  6. Western Innovation Forum (WIF) 2024: Economic Opportunities from Defence Procurement Online - March 5-7 
    This industry event connects western Canada’s aerospace, marine, and defense industries, cutting-edge innovators, and researchers to innovation-driven investment, research, partnerships, and ITB-related business opportunities.

  7. How Co-ops Can Fit into Your Ec. Dev. Strategy – FREE online workshop on Feb 28 from Noon – 3:00 PM
    This workshop is designed for economic and business development professionals and its EDAC accredited!

  8. 'Why I Love Alberta' Youth Challenge
    This contest encourages students in grades 9 – 12 to showcase their perspective on why Alberta is a fantastic place to study, work, and live through engaging videos.
