Northern & Regional Economic Development (NRED) Program: Application Deadline is Nov 28
 
NRED funds initiatives led by Alberta municipalities, Indigenous communities and non-profits that promote regional economic development and diversification. Proposed “Level Up” trade program: Supporting Alberta’s Businesses with Accelerating Growth, International Expansions, & Exports
 
Calgary Economic Development and the Government of Alberta are looking for feedback and insights on the proposed Level Up program via a survey for companies or one for internationally focused non-profit organizations. Input will take about 10 minutes and needs to be provided before Nov 30. (See program overview HERE)
 
The Alberta company survey is designed for businesses who:

Already have an established international presence and sales;

Are looking to expand internationally;

Are experiencing trade-related challenges; and/or

Are seeking to grow with the potential to undertake international expansion in the future.

The non-profit organization survey is designed for organizations and individuals who:

Who support economic activities, development and growth;
Work with companies directly or are part of indirect supports that benefit companies; and/or
Are involved in international activities including promoting Alberta and your organization to the world.

For the non-profit survey, chambers of commerce, international business councils, industry associations, post-secondary institutions, research institutes, municipalities, economic development officers, regional economic development organizations, and government departments or agencies, are encouraged to respond.

Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) Program: Application Deadline Dec 11
 
CSJ provides wage subsidies to support employers to create quality summer work experiences for youth aged 15 to 30 years. Not-for-profit employers can receive a wage subsidy of up to 100% of the current provincial minimum hourly wage. Public and private sector (with 50 or fewer full-time employees) employers are eligible to receive a wage subsidy of up to 50% of the current provincial minimum hourly wage.

CanExport Community Investments – Applications accepted Jan 5 - 30

 Canadian community-level, non-profit organizations can get non-repayable grants of up to $500K. These grants cover up to 50% of eligible expenses to help attract, retain, and expand foreign direct investment (FDI).
